Hand Forged Artisanal Belt Buckles

Each belt buckle is hand-crafted in small batches using traditional blacksmithing techniques. The result is a unique piece where not two buckles are identical. Our belt buckles are 100% designed and hand-forged in western Montana. Like all that things that endure, they are made with unrelenting care and attention to detail.

Below you’ll find more information on available styles, sizes and finishes. As well, contact us directly for custom work or wholesale inquiries.

Belt Buckle Sizes

Our rectangular, plate style buckles generally come in two sizes. Our larger rectangular buckle (2.25” X 4”) can be made with a 1.5” belt loop, while our smaller rectangular buckle (1.9” X 3.5”) can be made with either a 1.5” or 1.25” belt loop.

Our prong-style buckles are all 2.5” diameter and are made for 1.5” belts, but will handle other belt sizes.

Belt Buckle Finishes

Our four finish options of Dark Brass (aka Copper), Brass, Oxidation colors and Matte Black are shown below on our welded panels and Montana Stamped buckles.

Elkhorn Color Gradient

Our four finishes add unique character to each buckle style. With our Brass and Copper finishes, the hot steel is brushed with a brass brush before a cool quenching, resulting in shades of gold, brass and/or copper. For Oxidation Colors, we ‘run the colors’ on wire brushed steel resulting in shades of blue, purple and straw. A relatively hot quenching results in our distinct Matte Black finish. There can be a bit of variation among buckles - each buckle is unique!

Prong Style Buckle finishes

Finished in either Brass or Matte Black as shown below on our ‘Ball-Peened’ style prong buckle.
